London and Edinburgh

So in the last weekend of april I was a weekend in London again. Been to London so much lately don't really have that much new to write about. But we visited a great Asian restaurant Aqua Kyoto, was Right off regent street. Had the best sushi i have ever tasted. Alright I'm not the best judge of sushi cause i haven't really liked it before, but this was really good. The picture below shows sushi rolls from aqua Kyoto.

The weekend after we headed to Edinburgh, Went to and amazing place on the egde of the town centre called Prestonfield house. Was on Old gothic house with a restaurant. We had afternoon tea there.

Unfortunatly this weekend was a bank holiday and I hadnt booked any restaurants ahead which made it very difficult to find good places to have dinner:(

Andreas did find him self a good whisky shop though. I believe it was called Cadenhead. They had the whisky he's been searching for, Springbank 18 year Old. This store was located at the end of the royal mile, the other end from the Castle which isn't that touristy. I would say this store was cheaper than the other stores on the royal mile, it was about 20pounds cheaper on the Springbank. So looking for whisky? I recommend this shop, they also had there own cask strength whisky bortled in the store for you:)

London 4th time this year

So the weekend 18th-21st October I visited London again. The main reason was to see John mayer at O2 arena, I'm such a fan. But ofcourse we had time to do usual London stuff like great dinner and shopping:)

Friday we arrived pretty late so we just had a quick bite to eat. After that we headed to Trailer Happiness a cocktail bar in a basement on a corner on portobello road. It's sort of styled as a 70's bar.

Saturday we deticated to shopping and a stroll through Hyde park.
The evening we ate an awesome dinner at a restaurant on Brick Lane, "Back in 5 minutes". It's a very small restaurant so I recommend you book a table ahead. Plus you have to pass through a clothes shop called Ante to reach it.

Had a 3 course dinner, all of us started out with smoked duck as an appitizer, herb crusted salmon as a main. For deserts all of us chose different I had a brownie with popcorn parfait, it was so good. We also did a bar round on Curtain Road in shoreditch. I really like going out in the shoreditch area. Headed to Ninetyeight lounge which I also visited last time I was over.

The main event of the weekend on sunday evening, the John Mayer concert, did not let me down. All my favorite songs stacked on to each other in a for me magical concert. John Mayer never lets me down. Just wish I had more vacation days to head over to the states for his US tour;)

Next trip won't be until 7 weeks from now, will then be heading to Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and Miami, I can't wait. So until then I might not post that much or do a post a Gothenburg instead:). See ya later.

London for the third time this year

So I was over to the UK for work last week, me and two colleagues stayed over in London for the weekend. The weekend consisted of shopping and eating basically.

Starters at Gilgamesh
Me and the drink I never had time to finish:)
We started the weekend of with a visit to Gilgamesh in Camden where we had a set menu. I have really started to appreciate ordering set menus cause I try food which I would regularly never have ordered in my self. Gilgamesh is what I would call London's Buddakhan, which was a awesome asian restaurant in NYC and one I really enjoyed. I would say I like the decor and overall atmosphere better at Gilgamesh though they did serve the food a bit fast would have liked to be able to have time to enjoy my drink in between courses:) After Gilgamesh we ran between pubs, the rain as pouring down.

Before heading back to the hotel we ended up at a pub called The worlds end, probably a tourist pub, you would think it's small from the outside but it really opens up and is huge, an alright selection of beers.

Saturday we spent shopping. For lunch we headed to borough market. A bit crowded but I love all the food you can find there, ate a raclette, consisting of potatoes covered in cheese.

Damien Hirst installation at Tramshed
The evening we spent in the hoxton area, had dinner at Tramshed, basically chicken and steak was lovely though. The truly amazing part of the dinner was the salted caramel fondue type of desert in which you dipped donuts and marshmallows, SO GOOD! The tramshed has an installtion of Damien Hirst, a cow in formaldehyde.

Desert at Tramshed, YUM!

After Tramshed we went to a cocktail bar, Ninetyeight Bar and Lounge. The decor was different, but in a cool way, can't really find the right words to describe it.

So will be back in London in less then 4 weeks, so until then I might do a post about my town instead:) Gothenburg that is.

Monday

A great thing to do and a way to get around London is renting the barclay bikes. Me and My husband Andreas did that yesterday. After that we had lunch at Jamie Olivers's recipease easily found by Nottinghill Gate Metro Station. Had a peanut butter milkshake and a pizza. The place was great, a fun concept with a takeaway store on the ground floor and a restaurant with seating area on the second floor. After that we walked down a bit on portobello road before catching the train to the airport.
